New Pre-Engineering Classroom Opens at Heskett Middle School
Heskett has opened a MakerSpace-type classroom to house its new pre-engineering class. In this new grant-funded elective course, students will acquire knowledge and skills in problem solving, teamwork, and innovation. The large, open space allows students to explore STEM careers as they participate in project-based learning. They are also immersed in discovery and exploratory learning designed to challenge and engage the natural curiosity and imagination relative to technology, physics, robotics, invention science and coding.
"Teams design and test their ideas and redesign as necessary, jut like scientists and engineers in the real world" said Heskett pre-engineering teacher Chase Betenson.
