Glendale Rocks Science

Glendale students have done several exciting science lessons recently!

First graders were tasked with repurposing an item in another creative way. Students came up with several ideas such as terarriums, lava lamps, and flower vases. After students presented on their repurposed item they went on a nature walk around the building and in the discovery garden.

Several classes are in the process of observing the transformation from caterpillar to butterfly! Students are discussing the life cycle, learning facts about the insect, and recording their observations in journals.

Mrs. Lewis' third graders conducted a jelly bean experiment. Students made a hypothesis what would happen when they put a jelly bean in various types of liquid matters and discussed why the jelly bean either sank or floated.
