Preschool students and families worked together to collect new and used books, gift wrap, tape, bows and stickers for the Holiday Season. The preschoolers in Mrs. Foy’s AM and PM classes worked together with parent volunteers to wrap books, and decorate “gift tag” book marks for the books (and of course, have an extra special Holiday treat of cookies, hot cocoa, and popcorn - as well as play a few games and make pretend cookie Playdough creations)!
The book drive was held throughout December as a community service project within Glendale’s preschool, and the idea came from family input at the Preschool Family and Community Engagement Committee. The families in Mrs. Foy’s class enjoyed being able to participate both in person and through donations to the project.
New books will be donated to Rainbow Babies Children’s Hopsital, and used books will be donated to the Cleveland Kids Book Bank. We are so proud of the nearly 100 books that have been brought in (and they keep on coming!). Thank you to all involved for teaching our students about the spirit of giving!
