BHS Students Jamika Jackson and Micaela McDaniel recently competed in the state competition for Business Professionals of America and completed an incredible year with both of them earning medals in their workplace skills competition. Micaela competed in Presentation Management, and Jamika competed in the Banking and Finance competition.
“These two students always give me their best efforts in and out of the classroom” Business Management Instructor Glenn Yorkievitz, stated. “It was great to see all of their hard work pay off. Qualifying for this competition is hard enough, but to earn a top ten finish when competing against students from all over the state is a worthy accomplishment. “
Jamika’s performance earned her a spot at the National Competition in April. “This is an incredible accomplishment and great opportunity for her. She is so humble that I am not sure if she truly understands the magnitude of what she just accomplished,” Mr. Yorkievitz said. “With all the challenges this year, for these students to compete at this level and perform as well as they did really says something about their character and prospects going forward. I am looking forward to watching their progress during the upcoming years as they continue onto college. I think Bedford has two students here that will make us very proud.”
