  • Grading Plan & Graduation Clarification

Attached you will find the Grading Plan for students and parents that I referenced in my call yesterday.  In addition, I would like to provide clarification and an update regarding the graduation ceremony. First, the guidance we received from the Ohio Department of Education was that schools should conduct virtual graduations. The governor, on the other hand, stated today that schools could consider holding in-person graduations if they could figure out how to do it.  With that said, he went on to say that it would be driven by "a lot of different things," including the number of students participating in the ceremony and the size of the facility.  He went on further to say that large graduating classes "probably can't do it very well or can't do it."  As you can see, there is still much confusion around this topic.  As a result, it is in our best interest to complete our tentative plan while taking other options into consideration, all while waiting for the anticipated clarification from the governor. I am so sorry for the angst this has caused our students and parents.  As we know, the restrictions are changing daily.  Please continue to be patient with us. We will provide you with details once we have them and after a close and thoughtful examination of the facts.
