The Bedford City School Board District’s Board of Education is an elected body that plays a critical role in shaping the educational landscape of our district.  Elected by community members, the board consists of dedicated individuals who represent diverse perspectives and bring a wealth of experience and passion for education.

Their responsibilities include establishing policies, approving budgets, and advocating for the needs of students and staff. By working collaboratively with administrators, teachers, and the community, the school board  ensures that our school district remains accountable, transparent, and remains steadfast in its vision to provide high-quality education that empowers and inspires each student to reach their full potential.

Anthony Akins

Anthony Akins

Board of Education President

Anthony Akins is a proud graduate of Bedford City Schools, Class of 1996, and a U.S. Navy veteran, having served four years after high school.

Anthony currently works as a Lead Virtual Producer for Deloitte, one of the Big Four accounting firms, where he produces webcasts and LinkedIn Live events.

Mr. Akins holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix. In addition to his professional commitments, Anthony enjoys traveling and has a passion for Marvel and DC comic movies, as well as a collection of comic books and action figures.

Elected on November 4, 2025, Mr. Akins enjoys giving back to the community and serves on both the Communication/Community Engagement Committee and Finance Committee, with his current term set to end on December 31, 2030.

Mr. Callender serves on the Human Resources Committee and the Communications/Community Engagement Committee.

Eva Boyington

Eva Boyington

Board Member

Eva Boyington is a dedicated educator and community leader, currently serving her second term on the school board after being reelected in 2023.

She holds a Master of Education in Curriculum Instruction from Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio, and brings valuable insights from her experience as an elementary educator. Eva is passionate about fostering academic growth and well-being within the district and serves on the Finance Committee and the Policy Committee for the Bedford City School District, as well as the Student Achievement committee through the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA).

In her personal life, Eva finds joy in spending quality time with her family, indulging in her love for reading, attending church, and enjoying dramatic films.

Committed to creating a positive impact in the community, Eva’s current term on the school board is set to conclude in 2028, where she continues to advocate for the educational needs of all students.

Angelic Carter

Angelic Carter

Board Member

Angelic Carter is a proud graduate of The Bedford City School District, Class of1999, and she was elected to the school board in 2024.  As the Owner and Operator of Angelic Designs CLE and Co-founder of the Carter Family Scholarship Foundation, she is committed to enhancing educational opportunities for local students.

In addition, she provides training to aspiring cosmetologists preparing for their Ohio State Board exams, helping them achieve their professional goals. Angelic holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a minor in Psychology, equipping her with valuable skills for her role on the Curriculum Committee. In her free time, she cherishes spending quality moments with her family, whether it’s enjoying a movie together or participating in shared activities.

Angelic serves on both the Building & Grounds Committee and Curriculum Committee.

Angelic's current term will conclude at the end of 2028, during which she aims to make a positive impact on the school district and its students.
