Tim Tench, Board Member
Mr. Tench was elected to the Board in 2005 and was re-elected in 2009, 2013 and 2017. He served as President in 2009, 2012, and 2018, and Vice President in 2011 and 2017. He has served on the Board of Trustees for the Bedford City Schools Foundation for many years and presently serves as the Board Representative to the Foundation. He previously served on one of the Bedford City School District’s Strategic Planning Action Teams. Mr. Tench is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Medical Massage. He is the owner of Hands on Wellness, a massage therapy business. He is retired from the Cleveland Heights-University Heights (CH-UH) School District, where he worked for 22 years as a tradesman. He also served as both Secretary and Vice President of the Ohio Association of Public School Employees (OAPSE) Chapter #617. Mr. Tench served in the United States Army Reserves from 1971 to 1977. He is the drummer in a local band called Buzzy J. and the Verbs. He enjoys spending vacation time at his home in The Villages, Fla., where he looks forward to someday becoming a “snow bird.” A lifelong Bedford resident and 1969 graduate of Bedford High School, he was 1st Team All-Conference, Captain, and Most Valuable Player for the Bearcat Varsity baseball team. He has two daughters, Stacey and Tesa, both graduates of Bedford High School. In addition, four of his six grandchildren, Jacob, Hannah, Jackson, and Cameron have or are presently attending school in the district. His granddaughters, Gianna and Charlotte are still too young to be Bearcats! Mr. Tench’s term expires on December 31, 2021.
