A Message from Principal Winston

  • Dear Parents/Guardians,

On behalf of the faculty and staff of Central Primary School, I would like to WELCOME you and your child to the 2022-2023 school year! In light of the remnants related to COVID-19, I hope you and your family had an enjoyable and safe summer together and you are ready to embark on an exciting new school year. My staff and I are excited about this school year and are extremely honored to be given the opportunity to provide the best in-person educational experience for your precious children.

As the principal of Central Primary School, I want you to know that I am committed to providing a nurturing environment for your child that is rich in learning and filled with high expectations for success. The curriculum is rigorous, enhanced by real-world experiences that are supported by highly-qualified professionals and interested volunteers for the well being and overall development of your child.

Please know that my staff and I pledge to continue the long-standing tradition of excellence at Central Primary School. We will strive to encourage your involvement and the involvement and partnership of community stakeholders as we make a difference in the lives of the youngest learners in our district. I firmly believe that it takes a "village" to raise and educate children and your role in this educational process is vital to your child's achievement. You can get involved by joining PTA, being a vital volunteer (VIP) or enlisting grandparents, our legacy leaders, to join our Grandparents' Club.

As an administrator working in this school district for many years, I am proud to say, "Central is a wonderful school filled with educators and staff who care and strive toward excellence." My vision encompasses the notion that together we are molding children for individual greatness, which incorporates kindness, respect, and hard work every day. These important character traits will lead to the success and greatness of each individual person here at Central. Hopefully in weeks to come, your child will be able to share with you the cultural theme and direction of our school:

Kindness Every Day; Respect Every Day; Hard Work Every Day; Every Day I Am What I Do; I Choose To Be GREAT!  At Central Every Day We R.O.A.R.

For another year at the primary level, I am thankful to have a Dean of Academic Achievement who will be working closely with me every day, in a leadership role as an administrator, performing a variety of administrative and supervisory tasks.  Miss Caitlyn Gerl is new to our district and is coming to us with many years of teaching experience at the secondary level and she is looking to learn as much as she can about the administrative arena, while getting to know our children, our staff and our families. I am happy that she has joined our Central team.

New and exciting for this school year, we have paraprofessionals in the kindergarten classrooms; and have expanded our preschool program. We will continue with our Title Teacher program, having these teachers work closely with classroom teachers to support students learning in reading and math.

Once again, I want to welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year at Central Primary School.  My staff and I look forward to working with you and your child.  It is going to be an awesome year as Central is agreat place to be. Should you have any questions, or need anything, please feel free to call the school at 440-439- 4225.

    Sincerely,
    Mrs. Monique Winston
    Principal
