About Our District

Welcome to the Bedford City School District website. The Bedford City School District serves more than 33,000 individuals in Bedford, Bedford Heights, Oakwood, and Walton Hills. The school district is located in southeast Cuyahoga County, which is about 15 minutes from Cleveland, Ohio. Within the 22-square mile district are six schools. Total enrollment in the Bedford Schools is approximately 3,600 students.

The district employs approximately 280 classified staff members (secretaries, aides, bus operators, custodians, maintenance workers, cafeteria workers, and other support staff) and approximately 260 certified staff members (teachers and administrators).

The Bedford City Schools have a "sister-school" arrangement at the elementary grades. Students who attend Glendale Primary School are promoted to Carylwood Intermediate School. Those who attend Central Primary School are promoted to Columbus Intermediate School. This arrangement helps children develop basic skills and healthy, sustaining school relationships with peers in a challenging academic environment.

The Bedford City School District is an equal-opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, color, religion, age, disability, or national origin in the education programs and activities which it operates. Any questions or claims may be directed to the district's Title IX/Section 504 Coordinator Richard Dillman at 475 Northfield Road., Bedford, OH 44146.
