Girls Softball Advance to District Semi-Finals
Bedford High School :: Girls Softball
The girls softball team defeated Shaker Heights to advance to the OHSAA District Semi-Finals.  Shaker had beaten the lady bearcats twice this season, but the softball team won the game that counted most.  The girls are still in contention for their third consecutive LEL championship.  The lady bearcats will play Brecksville Monday May 14, 2012 at Solon high school with a 4:00PM start time.
Bearcats Finish in the Middle!
Bedford High School :: Boys Track
The bearcats boys and girls finished 5th and 7th out of 9 teams yesterday at the LEL Track and Field Championships. Highlights were the boys 4X200 team placing first, Tiarra Stephens winning the long jump and Terrick Mckenny winning the high jump.  The bearcats finished second in the girls 4X200 and 4X400 and the boys finished 3rd in the 4X100.

Boys and Girls Track and Field Finish 2nd @ Brush Relays
Bedford High School :: Boys Track
The Girls and Boys Track and Field teams finished 2nd out of 8 teams and brought home some hardware.  The Bearcats dominated the relays and sprint races, but fell short in the distance races to finish a close second.  The girls finished behing West Geauga and the boys ran a close second behing Eastlake North.  The teams will compete this Wednesday May 9, 2012 at 2pm in the Lake Erie League Championships in Bearcat Stadium.
Heskett Track Team Dominate Jefferson Relays
Bedford High School :: Boys Heskett MS Track
The Heskett Boys won the Jefferson Junior High School Track Relays by scoring over 160 points.  The Heskett Girls had a strong performance with a 3rd place finish.  The Track teams will compete at the Solon Middle School Relays May 12, 2012.

CLEVELAND BROWNS PARENTS CLINIC
Good afternoon,
 
We wanted to provide you with information on the inaugural Cleveland Browns Parents Clinic, which will take place Thursday, June 21 at Cleveland Browns Stadium. Below is an overview and registration information for the clinic. Please pass this on to your football coaches/booster staff, as we feel this could be beneficial for any parents who want to know what their son can expect if they are looking to further their playing career in college.
 
Cleveland Browns Parents Clinic – June 21
The Cleveland Browns Parents Clinic gives moms and dads the opportunity to receive an in-depth overview about the game of football. In addition to general discussion topics, parents are also able to attend individual breakout sessions, which are designed specifically to cover every aspect of the game, no matter the age of their youth or high school football player. Cost for the Clinic is $20 for individuals and $30 for couples; each participant will receive a custom Parents Clinic shirt and light snack. REGISTRATION FORMS ARE LISTED UNDER FORMS ON THIS SITE
Welcome Parents & Players!
The Bedford Bearcat Youth Football and Cheerleading (BBYFC) is gearing up to start its first season! The purpose of this league is to provide youth of our communities the opportunity to play football under proper supervision and safety precautions. The League participates in several different football leagues in the North East Ohio Area. The rules and regulations are determined by the conference. Below is some general information regarding BBYFC – specific information will become available as the season draws closer and coaches and players are assigned to teams.
Registration:
There is a $ 25 late registration fee for Football and $15 for Cheerleading AFTER JUNE 14, 2012
There is a maximum player count per team! So please register early! Registration is first come first served for COMPLETE registrations! Roster spots will not be held for incomplete registration packets.
 
Registration Packet Checklist:
• Completed & Signed Registration Form
• Completed & Doctor Signed Physical form
Completed & AYF FORMS
• Completed & Signed Parent Ethics Form
• Completed & Signed Player Ethics Form
COPY of original birth certificate (this will not be returned). Returning players must provide a new copy every year.
• Registration donations
o PERSONAL CHECKS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
o Money orders or cashier’s checks should be made payable to: BBYFC
o Tackle Donation: $125.00 per player ($ 100 IF YOU REGISTER BEFORE June 14, 2012)
o Cheerleading $80.00 per player($ 65 IF YOU REGISTER BEFORE June 14, 2012)
o Sibling Discount: $10.00 per each additional child
 
Important Information:
• Team assignments are based on the players grade.
All football players must purchase their own practice pants (with pads) &practice jersey (Play it Again Sports
is an option)
• The season is 8–10 weeks, depending upon the number of teams and games start around the last week in August
Practice begins July 23 @ Bedford High School practice field. Practice is from 6:00p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
• Practice Schedules
o All practices last for approximately 2 hours or until dark
o 5 days a week (before school starts) July 23, 2012 – August 17, 2012 Monday thru Friday
& 3 days a week (after school starts) August 20, 2012 until October Tuesday Thursday and Friday---
o Games on Saturdays and/or Sundays
Transportation is not provided by the BBYFC ! Players must provide their own ride to and from practices and games. Practices and home games will be held on the stadium field and if needed grass fields around the high school. However, away games can be as far as Painesville.
