Bedford City Schools to Induct Seven into Halls of Fame

Members of the prestigious group of Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame inductees are graduates of Bedford High who have made significant contributions in their fields, society, and their country. Members of the Athletic Hall of Fame are graduates of Bedford High School who have made significant contributions as student-athletes while at Bedford High and possibly have made athletic contributions as post-graduates as well. Former Bedford coaches who may not be BHS graduates may also be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame.
 

This year’s inductees are:
 

Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame
 

  • Leighton McCoy, Class of 1989, Director, Engineering & Construction, Dominion Energy
  • John Seaman, Class of 1971, Owner and President, Future Light, Inc.
  • Curtis Taylor, Class of 2003, Professional Musician/Grammy Award-Winning Trumpeter
     

Athletic Hall of Fame
 

  • Lee Evans, Class of 1999, Football and Track
  • Ray Kennedy, Educator, Coach, and Athletic Director
  • Antonio (“Tony”) Moore, Class of 1990, Football and Basketball
  • Shawn Williams, Class of 1995, Football and Track
     

Congratulations to the 2018 Inductees who will also be honored with picture/biography plaques hung on the walls of Bedford High School alongside those inducted before them.
