Najee Stevens McKenzie, a Bedford High School graduate from the class of 2015, signed a National Letter of Intent December 20, 2017, to further his education at the University of Kansas and to play Division I football in the Big 12 Conference with the Jayhawks. was rated a three-star recruit by Rivals.com. He earned First Team All-Northeast Conference in 2017 for ASA College, where he earned his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. He was credited with 33 total tackles including a team-best and 12.5 tackles-for-loss. He also registered 9.5 sacks and a blocked kick in the season, which helped lead the ASA Avengers to a 9-1 overall record and a win in the Valley of the Sun Bowl as a sophomore.
While at BHS, Najee helped lead the Bearcats to a regional and conference title in 2014. During that season he had 67 tackles, 10 tackles-for-loss, eight sacks and nine quarterback hurries during the 2014 season. He received special mention all-district his senior year at Bedford High.
Najee plans to continue his pursuit of a major in criminal justice. He chose Kansas over offers from Iowa State, Maryland, Missouri, Pittsburgh, UCF, Bowling Green and Toledo.
