Dear Bedford High School Parent (s)/Guardian (s) and Students:

We would like to WELCOME you to the 2017-2018 school year!

Welcome back to our returning students and families…and a very special welcome to the class of 2021, our new ninth grade students and their families.  We have many exciting activities planned for the 2017-2018 school year and we hope that we can count on your continued support of Bedford High School.

We are looking forward to working with you, to make this school year a wonderful, educational experience for us all.  With that being said, the first day of school for the 2017-2018 school year is Monday, August 28, 2014. Instructional hours are from 7:45a.m. – 2:20 p.m.

This year we have made several organizational changes. The changes are as follows; Mr. Robert Rutkowski will be the 11th and 12th grade principal and Mr. Brady Harrison will be our 9th and 10th grade principal. This year, we have added an Office of Academic Affairs located in C-155 and Mrs. Kimberly Sterlekar is our Associate Principal of Academics.

Next, parents beginning this school year when entering into the high school, you will have to sign in and present your driver license or some form of photo ID in order to proceed past the security desk. So please be sure to have some form of ID when coming into the high school.

Lastly parents, headphones and ear buds are NOT permitted. Students are NOT allowed to have them in class, or anytime during the instructional day. Should students have them, they will be confiscated. Cellphones are NOT to be seen or heard. Should students have them out they will be confiscated. Lastly, the dress code for the Bedford City School District has NOT changed. Please visit the districts website for any additional information regarding the dress code policy.

Parents please assist and support us as we continue to create a culture of excellence in everything that we do.

In closing, we would like to thank you for your continued support of your child and of our school district.

For Education Par Excellent,

Samuel J. Vawters
